Call for Applications: Applied Investigative Journalism Program
Ortak invites young journalists and aspiring reporters interested in investigative journalism to take part in real investigative reporting processes. The Applied Investigative Journalism Program, organized by Ortak, aims to create a collaborative space for mentorship and hands-on production, enabling young journalists to directly engage with investigative journalism practices.
Metin Göktepe Journalism Award for the New Turkish Five Investigation
Ortak’s investigation The New Turkish Five, which revealed how blank-firing pistols produced in Turkey are used by organized crime networks in Europe and Turkey, has been awarded the Written News Prize at the 29th Metin Göktepe Journalism Awards.
Workshops: Introduction to Investigative Journalism
Ortak will organize its Introduction to Investigative Journalism Workshops in Istanbul this November, designed for journalists, early-career reporters, and media professionals who are working in — or aspire to work in — investigative journalism.
The workshops will be held in person in Istanbul on 1 November 2025 and 8 November 2025.
