Ayşe Burçak
Fiction and non-fiction writer, editor
Ayşe Burçak graduated from the Faculty of Law at Istanbul University. Her work, which brings together creative writing and contemporary issues, has been published in digital outlets such as Aposto, Cosmopolitan, and 20’lik Bülten.
Her short stories have appeared in literary magazines including Varlık, Notos, and Sözcükler. In 2024, her short story manuscript En Beklemediğin Anda was selected as “noteworthy” in the Yaşar Nabi Nayır Awards. Published in 2025, Aşklar ve Hayaletler is her first short story collection.
In her writing practice, Ayşe Burçak focuses on the intersections between personal experience and social issues, developing a voice that moves between fiction and nonfiction. At Ortak, she works on narrative-driven journalism and long-form nonfiction, producing stories shaped by everyday life, social transformations, and personal testimony.
